The world’s advanced PV manufacturer & new energy solution provider Beyondsun recently announced that its 300 MW wind farm project in Gansu, China has been officially connected to the grid. It is reported that the project is one of the largest wind farms in northwest China.
According to reports, the 300 MW wind power project is located in Tongwei County, Dingxi City, Gansu Province. Tongwei County is located in the hilly and gully area of the Loess Plateau. The area where the project is located is rich in wind resources, such as the Heiyan Mountain-Niuying Dashan line, and the effective wind speed time available throughout the year is more than 6000 hours, which is a typical river valley wind power project.
The project is exclusively invested and developed by Beyondsun, with a total investment of 2.5 billion RMB and a total installed capacity of 300 MW. A total of 56 wind turbines with a single capacity of 3.6 MW and 29 wind turbines with a single capacity of 3.4 MW have been installed in the field. Also, the project is equipped with two 110kV booster stations. The project started construction at the end of 2020 and achieved full-capacity grid-connected in December 2021. It is estimated that the project can provide about 560 million kWh of electricity each year. Compared with thermal power plants of the same scale, it can save 200,000 tons of standard coal, reduce 1,900 tons of dust and air pollution, and reduce 1,600 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions. Besides, it also effectively promotes the sustainable development of the local economy, optimizes the local power grid structure, and effectively supplements the power supply, which has obvious economic, social and environmental benefits.
In addition to this 300 MW Gansu wind farm project, Beyondsun has been developing quickly in the new energy sector during the first year of the “14th Five-Year Plan”.
On the product and manufacturing side, Beyondsun has launched its DuDrive Max and DuDrive UltraMax high-efficiency product series based on 182 and 210 cells. The maximum power of the products exceeds 655W. At the same time, Beyondsun’s new 3GW smart manufacturing module factory will be completed and put into production in the Q1 of 2022. The production lines will be fully compatible with large-size P-type PERC cell modules and N-type TOPCon cell modules.
At the project side, in April, Beyondsun signed a 1GW distributed project development framework agreement with the Heze government of Shandong province; in June, Beyondsun and Wuxing Industrial Investment Group jointly established a joint venture Guosheng New Energy to jointly developed 500 MW distributed projects, and the first batch of 100 MW projects has started construction; and in August, Beyondsun and Haixizhou government of Qinghai province formally signed an investment cooperation agreement. Beyondsun plans to invest a total of 24.5 billion RMB during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period to build a 5 GW “wind, solar, energy storage and farming” integrated new energy park.
As the global carbon neutral pace accelerates, new energy based on wind power and solar have ushered in a period of rapid development. In this new energy revolution, Beyondsun will rely on more efficient and high-quality products, more professional project teams, and more flexible and innovative cooperation models to explore more markets, and bring more value to our customers.
